why do i lose lp to leagues client being buggy

I legit lost lp because the client said i wasn't connected to the internet but everything else was working so it wasn't that, I closed out of the client even in task manager but it wouldn't load just kept crashing so i reset my pc and if forced me to re patch and i lost lp because my team remade like i dont get why i lost lp over a problem that i cant control because the client wouldn't let me join. Seems kinda unfair that I got punished because the client is buggy.
