Yasuo did block dmg with the shield, but cc should give assist/kill vs tower in this case.

The narrative that damage is all that matters is kinda silly.
if your ability only damage his passive shield and not his health bar it doesn't count as actually damaging yasuo and so he gets executed
True, but crowd control should bypass that - think of elise cacoon, veigar wall etc. They all give assist even if no other dmg is dealt.
Quote from the wiki about execute:
If a champion dies and hasn't been damaged or debuffed by another champion in the last 13 seconds, they are executed.
Root is clearly a debuff.
Did a few tests in custom... Lux bind, elise root, veigar wall all give assists in the same situation as seen in the video. ALL the damage went in the yasuo passive shield, yet the kill was still given to the champ, NOT tower. Edit: Zyra root also doesn't give assist.
The reason u didn't get assist cause, ur cc broke yas stupid passive and for some reason doesn't count. It happens often when i hook him under tower as thresh.
idk its wonky, sometimes i do get the kill, sometimes i don't.
Aditional info: Original "bug": Neeko e on yasuo with passive = execute / Neeko e on other champs with shield (tested with lux) = kill. In both cases all the dmg was soaked up by the shield.
Explain that?
