Mac Framerate Drop

Since 5.5 I have been experiencing frame rate drops and lag. I have a very powerful machine and it used to run flawlessly. Was wondering if anyone was experiencing this as well. Also i should note that certain things such as a dragon or baron kill trigger the frame rate drops, although it seems to happen randomly as well. Sorry for no links or videos but its just a general issue.
