Patch 5.14 Constan Crashing Mac

The first thing that becomes clear as I start that game is the red shop window. The background of the entire shop is a translucent red. Text and item frames are visible, but the red is making everything hard to see. As the game progresses, there are constant crashes that make me have to restart my entire computer because league would freeze entirely. I can't force quit, I can't move my mouse, nothing. My ping and internet connection is completely fine. Nothing out of the ordinary besides the new patch. Before 5.14, everything was fine, but now, I can't even play properly.

Hey gang,

I'm sorry to hear you're having these problems with the game - we're actively looking at this issue on our end. To help us out, for those of you who are running into these issues specifically, can you post some basic information into this thread? We're specfically looking for:

  • OSX Version
  • CPU
  • GPU
  • Are you experiencing shop texture issues, crashes, or both?

Also, if you've experienced this specifically in a ranked game with the legacy HUD, that'd be great to know as well. Again, sorry for the inconvenience!

same here WE AS MAC USERS CANT PLAY LEAGUE, its becoming so annoying for us and for the community, you get disconnects every 5 min and worsen everyone's experience of the game, imma stop playing until they fix it

Funny thing is that iLoL ran smoother than any official Riot Mac client.

We're digging both into the red shop texture and a report of bugsplats and crashes with MAC. As we learn more we'll update y'all.

yea, im playing on my imac, before 5.14 everything was fine too. after patch red shop screen and crashing after ±5 minutes all game long. got newest operating system and my firewall doesn't block league. so it's the patch i think

Same here, Red exactly as u said.Crashes and stuffz. Im going in vacation and i hoped to enjoy BilgeWater but this came up. item 2050 item 3070

Exactly the same problem, messed up shopping screen and client crashes after about 5 minutes of playing. Keep reconnecting and a few minutes later it crashes again. Playing on MacBook running 10.9.5.

EDIT: Ranked seems to work fine, so it seems to be a problem with the new HUD.

It really makes me sad how this problem has been going on for hours and still not a word from riot :/ I was really excited for this update and just wanted to play but the crashing makes it impossible to play at all. If riot can just fix this now everyone would be happy but i feel like it would take a couple more hours until the fix will take place. Something in return for this inconvenience would be nice. item 3070

Hey y'all,

First I want to thank everyone for providing this information, in situations like this the more we can learn about the configurations that are having problems the better insight we gain into the issue. We believe that the issue should now be fixed on all regions, but if you're still experiencing either the red textures in the shop or instability with your game client please let us know and we'll continue to work on getting the problem resolved.

exact same problem for me too ...post 5.14....red screen and then poof..... happened 4 times in one game...at least not penalised!!!!

Texture Issues in Shop + Crashes (a lot)

I usually play with Chrome open in the background listening to music. Shut it off, crashes went down from "every few minutes" to once a game. Seeing as most people here seem to have a low-end mac as well and the Issue worsened for me depending on the load, I would guess it's somehow related to / or at least propelled by low processing power i.e. processing hang ups. The crash would sometimes also cause my browser in the background to stutter (audible through the music).

Hope you fix this Riot, really needed to relax after a long day at work (it's very hot in Germany right now). Fellow Windows players are usually not very sympathetic to mac related issues when you keep dis-/ reconnecting, "I don't understand, why don't you just use a PC?"

Riot, I've been having the exact same issue (also a mac player). I really think that you don't really care about macs and just focusing on PCs. League of Legends is for me the best game and id really want some support from you guys to fix this. We (mac players) really want a minimum of attention. Please fix this as soon as possible. This is not a raging message just pure feelings. Thanks for making a such good game.

This summoner perfectly described the picture with The Bilgewater patch. Things are not good. Also, when you're in mid-game, and it freezes, by the time you get back into the game, the leaver buster system wants to shut you down. its a bad look for punishing users when the game is freezing and crashing and forces us to reboot and relogin. (How long to ride out the freeze until we reboot?) Also I find it hard to believe no mac users do playtesting. :( #hireme

i also hate the red in the store. when I ask in game it feels like no one else sees a problem.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM with the Red tint on the shop and the constant DC and crashing :( only happens in BilgeWater Bridge though...

I don't know if this could be of any use, but maybe it could be a problem with Yosemite users. I think this is the case because I'm using Mavericks and I'm doing just fine, but all my friends who have Yosemite experience these problems.
