Mac Client connection to LG monitor causing levels not to show up

So I recently have been using my LG HD tv as a display for my Macbook Pro and every I load into the game it crashes for a split second. Then when I am finally in game the level counter that is usually next to the health bars that hover over each champion is Super tiny and unreadable. Luckily everything else about the game is running fine but then again I could be unsure about that. Anybody else having issues with this? I tried lowering my settings and changing the resolution but it doesn't help the issue.
