Gifted a skin and it disappeared HELP!

I opened one of my chests and it brought up a kogmaw skin. The prehistoric one and as soon as it appeared on my screen it disappeared and I got gold essence. I didn't click on anything. I finally get a skin instead of a champ and it disappears. Help me please!
