Dead Man's Plate on Nidalee

[GAMEPLAY] Basically the bug/exploit here is that when trowing an AA in human form and then switching to cougar form while the aa is in the air it will proc since cougar form is considered melee. Basically just get , throw an aa, then switch to cougar form and it will proc. I did this as Bruiser Nidalee, i had , and 14% att speed from runes. 0% att speed from masteries.

Out of curiousity, do Jayce and Elise have the same interaction with the item?

Just tested it with a friend of mine, same interaction happens on those two.

In that case, it might just be how autoattacks are coded. It's possible that each individual autoattack doesn't record whether or not the champion was ranged or melee when it began; it may just link back to the champion and refer to their current state when the autoattack hits.

That is, if the autoattack hits the target while the champion is melee it will be counted as melee, even if the autoattack began as a ranged autoattack.

Alternatively, it may be an issue with Dead Man's Plate itself. If it isn't specific to the item, then you will likely see a similar effect with Tiamat for those champions.

Not really sure how it's actually coded though, so that's just my theory.

I think you may be right about how auto attacks are coded. I just tested this with Nidalee and Tiamat. I attacked while in human form, then changed to cougar form before the attack landed, and Tiamat's Cleave passive procced.
