Nidalee spears passing through people

I've been noticing this more and more, and it hasn't been only me because people tend to find it hilarious in chat. Sometimes (fairly rarely, maybe one to three times a game) my spears will pass directly through someone's center. Definitely not arguable on whether or not it's touching the hit box. Has anyone else experienced this, or is there a post already about this? I imagine it could be because of how thin the hit box is and how the servers have been lately, but it definitely never seemed to be during high ping or lag spikes specifically.
