Kennen W bug

Was playing Kennen today when I noticed the stacks on my w passive were up to 8 instead of going off at 5, I was very confused and frustrated when I wasn't stunning the enemy adc when I should have been. Not sure if It matters but I was supporting against a Blitz and a Tristana .
