  • % Crit Damage runes dont work on ashe anymore, her new passive makes it that her crit damage scales with crit chance, i have a rune page that gives +49% Crit Damage when used on ashe and i start the game it doesnt note it in the passive then when i hit a minion i can clearly tell that im not doing 49% more damage so i'd like you to look into ashe's new passive with crit damage runes

That's strange. Infinity Edge's crit damage bonus was supposed to boost Ashe's passive crit. Do you know about how much more damage you did?

Crit damage % only affects the bonus crit damage, not whole damage. Ashe works there like any other adc in the game

But since Ashe is doing reduced crit damage equal to crit chance, crit damage % has reduced effect. And if you have no crit chance, crit damage isnt doing anything at all.

If you go in game you will notice that with crit damage runes and an avarice blade her damage for her passive will be 110% + 15% and with out the crit damage runes while still having the avarice blade is 110% + 10%. How ever if you have no crit chance it will always be 110% + 0%. In this way Ashe's damage scales the same as any other ADC with crit damage and crit chance. It doesn't matter since crit damage runes aren't that good until extremely late game and Ashe no longer gets more benefits from it than any other ADC. You are better off with armor pen or attack damage and armor now since she no longer has a huge advantage in lane exchanges and crit damage no longer boosts your early damage at all.

Its a sad story since Yasuo can just build 2 item and crit every hit with 2.25 AD dmg while Ashe can build those item and crit after 1st hit with only 1.60~1.70 AD dmg. And now people can basically choose enhanced armour(or whatever that mastery is) to mitigate the dmg

They actually still provide gains...but it's complicated. The formula for Ashe's damage on frosted targets is different than how normal crit works. As someone else pointed out...you must actually have some quantity of %crit chance in order to take advanatge of %crit damage.

It works like this...

%crit chance on Ashe = more damage on frosted targets only

%crit damage = a multiplier to the bonus damage from %crit chance

So basicly if your %crit chance is 0....the 0 x anything is still 0.

However, buy any Crit chance item and your damage bonus is greater than it would be without crit damage runes if you have them equiped.

It's important to understand that %crit chance sucks early game as it helps absolutely zero with last hitting. 1st attacks on targets not frosted have no damage bonus. Follow up shots will do more damage however. Secondly, crit damage only benifts you if you have a significant amount of crit chance first. That includes IE. It is much much more potent if you have a second or third crit chance item than the same amount of AD from items that don't have crit chace.
