Crash in Champ Select

Besides the awful quarter screen problem happening recently which is already getting plenty of discussion, I have been experiencing stalls that complete freeze and can even shutdown my computer during champion select. My screen, keyboard and mouse are rendered useless. I'm using a MacBook pro (yes, how dare I use this machine for one game I enjoyed to play in my free time?) and this problem will always occur on first game after entering the client then again about 75% of the time. Due to this I'm forced to leave the queue, and you guessed it penalized by the same people who caused and are preventing me from playing in the first place (thanks for keeping all those dodgers in line). I have tried everything I can think of; there are no other programs running at the same time. I am posting on here with the intentions that maybe others experiencing the same thing and are hoping for an answer as well or maybe others have found out a fix and would like to share _(I don't expect Riot will be along to help for awhile based on their current pattern of ignorance).
