fixed it'self had to close the client
Happened to me too. Restarted the client about 6 times which didn't help. Black screen on restart with the "unable to connect" dialog box. Hitting "cancel" brought me back to the client which asked if I wanted to skip waiting for stats (instead of reconnect). I could set up a new game but the start button didn't cause anything to happen. It just randomly let me reconnect about 3 min later. No bug splat.
