[CRASH] Unable To Load Into Game After Champion Select On Mac Client

Upon downloading patch 5.9, everything about the mac client works normally with the exception that after Champion Select my game crashes. The client shows a button telling me to reconnect to the game. I noticed this bug in a normals game however it persists in custom games as well. There do not seem to be any variables that affect this outcome from what I have seen through my own and other people's experiences. Reproduce this bug by simply playing a game in the mac client, and it will happen immediately after Champion Select

I have seen numerous other threads detailing this problem, however none seem to have been responded to by a riot employee and there has been no alert in the client so I am assuming it is unnoticed. I have tried posting it here using the format that Riot wants just in case they have not seen it for this reason. A response by a Riot employee and/or alert in client would be appreciated. Thanks!

UPDATE: The game works fine on my PBE launcher so it seems that it is just patch 5.9 that is causing the problem.
