I just started a ranked match without patching because new client wouldn't let me patch due to lack of memory. I could join the lobby but when the game started i never could "reconnect". Resulting in a 19 lp lost :(.
No one to blame there but yourself. Feels bad.
That is why you check the version in the corner. It's just something you pick up when dealing with software. Sounds crazy but you allways have to make sure whatever you're updating or downloading is done properly. We just live in a world where we trust our computers too much. That's how you get viruses or miss a possible exploit in general.
( yeah i'm that guy that reads ToS, i don't trust anything i sign blindly IRL, why should i do it online )
