I'm not a great LOL player, but I'm good enough to catch a katarina q with windwall as yasuo some of the time.

I was playing a game today vs katarina, and there were a few things going crazy, some of which are probably video card stuff: health bar blacked out, missing some teammate portraits, but those are just cosmetic.

The thing that was bothering me was when I would windwall katarina's bouncing blades, and the first strike would always go through, no matter when I got the wall up. There are several times where I missed, but here are the times where it gets through, recorded on stream.

10:00 - I may have a bad angle, but I think I caught that one. 12:20 14:37 - I caught that one for sure. 17:25

That's all I could find.

It never did. Many targeted spells cast in close range such as Katarina Q, Akali Q, Annie Q, or TF W-AA will actually go through Wind Wall if Wind Wall isn't already up by time the projectile leaves the enemy model.

Wind Wall has always been buggy, and Riot changes it a bit every patch. A while ago, Wind Wall used to cancel every blade in Talon's ultimate if a single blade hits the wall. However, now it mostly only cancel the blades that hit the wall.

Recently, I find that slower moving projectiles such as Annie Q or TF W-AA can now be clutch-walled most of the time. However, Akali Q and Katarina Q are still a problem.

The only advice I can give is to not rely on Wind Wall to block these abilities. If you absolutely must block something, Wind Wall behind you and E to a minion behind you. This puts a bit more distance between the enemy model and the wall, which in some cases will result in a successful block.
