Thresh's face of mountain passive broken

When i play the passive does not work. must last hit the minion for the passive to proc otherwise it will do nothing.

Thresh. Is. Ranged.

Execute. Is. Melee. Only.

This false bug report has been appearing at least once a week for years because people don't know how to read tooltips.

Then why must thresh last hit. The item is useless besides for the items shield. it is hard to last hit the minion when the adc is attacking the minion. why would riot add the item if the passive is practically useless?

Only the execute is melee-only. The heal and gold-sharing will occur if you kill a minion through any source of damage (i.e. autoattacks, abilities, Sunfire Cape, Smite, etc).

Use the passive on Thresh's Flay to last-hit the minion.

Relic Shield's passive is rather useful when players are capable of using it.
