Matchmaking Messed Up Since Patch

I have had multiple games since the patch where my team gets put up against another set of players that have ranks well beyond mine. The last game I played for example pitted these groups together:

(Myself) Bronze 1 ----------------------Gold V Silver III ---------------------------------------Gold III Silver II ----------------------------------------Plat III Unranked-------------------------------------Gold V Silver IV ------------------------------------- Silver V

I fully admit I am not the best leagues player being in Bronze for almost every season I have played. When I play a normals game I don't mind a challenging team but when the enemy team I am laning against is a plat that kinda kills the fun of the game. This may just be a fluke but I wanted to see if anyone else was having these type of experiences since the start of the pre-season or maybe there is a mechanic that changes at the start of the pre-season?

Normal mmr is 100% seperate from ranked mmr, and if higher ranked people are playing with you it's likely to chill out and have some fun, so they likely aren't playing a role they main.

Honestly, you would probably do better // learn more if you simply didn't look at what rank your opponent was, and then didn't have that excuse to fall back on.
