In-game character not responding

In the past week I've noticed that my characters, every so often, will not respond to any commands I give (mouse-click, ability commands, etc.). While it could be something on my end, I haven't noticed any significant changes in my ping and my Internet connection hasn't been having any noticeable issues. Not sure if anyone else has been affected by this, but these periodic events get quite annoying, especially during trades and team fights.
