Star Guardian Skins

I bought 2 star guardian skins that come with the emblem, the picture of the skins show the special star guardian emblem at the bottom of them. I don't know why that's there if it doesn't come with it. I want to know if this is a error or a scam. If the mastery emblem isn't going to be added in the future I really don't care for the avatar emblem, I wanted the more expensive skin for the mastery emblem. I really hope this is getting fixed because I really want the mastery emblem without using the emblem from invasion. So all in all I really just want the mastery emblem that is shown at the bottom of the skin.[sg-soraka]

Hey Zombieking45 -

In order to obtain the loading screen borders, which I think is what you're referring to, you'd need to purchase the First Star Bundle. If you've purchased a skin already, the bundle would be discounted to 400ish RP.

Yea, that would be really nice. Now i'm forced to use the 2 stars icon for the emote :(

Hello Katey. I'm a huge fan of the Star Guardian mastery emotes. Is there any way we can maybe tie them to the border or something to keep them after the event? I'm open to it even remaining tied to the icon but the emote is just too good to throw out.

Currently, I don't believe we're planning to keep them, as they were meant to be part of the Star Guardian experience, but I can most certainly pass along your feedback that you'd like to keep them around. This is the first time we're doing something like this, and it's important to understand what you like (or dislike!) about new features - i.e. how you obtain the content, as well as how you interact with it (and in your case, how long!)

I was saying I wanted the mastery emote in game without having to use the invasion emblem.

Oh, gotcha! You'd said "picture of the skins show the special star guardian emblem at the bottom of them" which sounded like the special loading screens.

This is the first time doing mastery skins, so we're open to feedback on how they're implemented. This time around, you'll need to use the Invasion icons, but in the future we could try to hook them up differently, i.e. having them automatically show if x event is going on. (I'm not sure if we currently have the tech to do so, but again, it's a new feature that we can expand on!)

I think what he means (and seemingly a lot of people) is that we want the star guardians icons showing there familiar should also show the new mastery (and i don"t think this is the first mastery emote change, remember night-bringer yasuo?)

Mastery skins for levels 5, 6, and 7 are hooked up slightly differently than the emotes you're referring to with Nightbringer Yasuo, because you need to be x mastery, in addition to having the icon equipped.

For Star Guardian, you need to use one of the Invasion mode icons to get the Star Guardian-themed mastery emotes. We've received feedback in terms of which icons should unlock the mastery skins (in this case, more than just the Invasion icons). There aren't plans to change which specific icons will activate the skinned emote, as they're temporary, but it does give us something to consider the next time we do something like this.

my bad then sorry i assumed it was a case of simply checking before showing emote if they had the icon and simply sliding the name in there would work

No worries! There's a lot of weird stuff that happens on the back end of the client. :)
