I played mid varus vs xerath and the entire laning phase any q that was at the end of the range would hit him doing the animation of hitting him and doing 0 damage to him. This occurred throughout the game in teamfights and random points its vs easy to occur just hit the varus Q at the end of the range and it does no damage.
I had an opposing varus hit me at max range multiple times, but I took no damage. I think the animation triggers beyond the actual range. I think it is just visual, and you aren't losing any range from this bug.
Is true, Varus Piercing Arrow is bugged at max range. And it is very anoying.
I agree, I was playing many poro king games with varus and did encounter this bug almost every few minutes.
