Gameplay Jhin ulti bug with Illaoi

I recently played a game as jhin and during a teamfight and i ulted i had an Illaoi on my same team who had used her E to pull out a soul of a master yi in wich case i used my final shot trying to kill the sprit (master yi with it) but my shot just ran through it and did not affect, damage it at all. happened 2 times in the same game.
