Huge True Damage nuke from nowhere. [GAMEPLAY]

Okay. So I was playing as Zac Zac earlier today with roughly 6.4 - 6.6k health at the endgame, and I was preparing to use my E (Elastic Slingshot) on an enemy Jhin. Upon landing ontop of Jhin, I took a massive burst of True Damage from nowhere. I have no idea what it was until after I died almost immediately afterwards. Turns out the damage came from "game_spell_displayname_Bowmaster" and nuked me for 6270 True Damage. As there is no set ability in the game even called this, I am more than sure this is a bug of some sort. I have attached an image of the Post-Death screen showing the damage indicator and I am truly dazzled at what this is or why it happened. Some light to be shed on this would be greatly appreciated. The extra damage I took from Basic Attacks was between healing from Zac's passive.

Spaghetti code decided it wanted to deal 6k true damage to you.

Jhin originally had a global skillshot ultimate that was a guaranteed one hit kill against marked enemies. They decided against it because in play testing it was too underpowered due to being too hard to hit. Apparently some of the coding leaked through

Or so a buddy of mine told me

You say you had somewhere between 6.4 and 6.6k health.

Clearly, you were too fat to use Elastic Slingshot causing you to hit the ground at a terminal velocity killing you and triggering your passive.

Lay off the Cinderhulk health stacking and you should live to a ripe old age of 18 next game.

Weird

was the player's name "Bowmaster"?

DarkLarvitar5/3/2016, 5:54:37 PM8 votes

Just going to re-clarify here; this damage was taken UPON LANDING. My passive revive was on cooldown at the time as a large team-fight had occurred a minute or-so beforehand. Zac's passive revive had no part in this sequence of events.

I notice this damage whenever I play Zac. If you are about to reform but the last tick of your final blob's health is destroyed right as you start your reform animation, the game will just deal 6k true damage to you to kill you, since your blob should have died but didnt exist for a moment.

Thats a very common bug with Zac, any time your passive procs the Death Recap glitches out super hard.

Its shows I took magic damage from flash or true damage from barrier before but in reality you didn't, its just a bug with the death recap display interacting with Zac's passive in a wonky way.

I REMEMBER WHEN YOU COULD STILL BUY BOOT ENCHANTMENTS... #butthurt

Get splashed by Twitch's flask and just before it explodes, he pops E and "executed". That sewer sludge is lethal in it's own accord...

coughs

So, um... This 6k true damage glitch has actually been around since last week. Has happened to me a few times in ARAM when no one was around, no DoT's, no snowballs being chucked...and died retreating to my own turret and X champion that hit me last got the kill (given they were either dead or WAY outta range of range/ap/melee attacks)

EDIT!!!

AND THIS JUST IN!!!!

What's Next? I get banned for 14 days for repeated dodging cause they messed something up? (sarcastic eye roll)

I main Zac and I think this is a bug that appears when your passive is up - so damage dealt to your blobs during the passive is somehow treated as a true dmg.

Bowmaster was Ashe's name during testing 7 years ago

Have you been able to recreate the bug? Might be worth it to try and make the same exact scenario to see if it happens again.

There is the possibility that you landed upon a million Jhin traps. Not sure why the name would be called that or why it would be coded as true damage but that's the only thing I can think of at all.

probably jhin traps, don't trust the death recap, its visually bugged

Can you edit your input.ini or json file and bind a key to activate a "Bowmaster" spell?
