[CLIENT] Login Screen Not Appearing After Launch

When launching the League of Legends client, after clicking the Launch button, the login screen that usually follows will sometimes not appear.

  1. Open League client (through whichever means)
  2. Click on the "Launch" button.
  3. Wait for the login screen to popup and login.

The expected result is for the login screen to popup and the player to input their account information and login. The result that sometimes occurs is the login screen never pops up and the player must repeat the steps again.

This bug is quite annoying as it can take, from my experience, over 5 attempts for the login screen to popup (keeping in mind that there is a reasonable wait each time).

This occurs on the PC version of League, though I am unsure if it also occurs on the Mac version. It appears to occur randomly with no direct cause, and the only solution seems to be retrying over and over.

I have tried to repair my client, completely reinstall League, opening League with nothing else running, restarting my computer, running League as an admin, and disabling my firewall. None of these things seems to fix the problem.

Me too I have no idea why it keeps doing it but I am reinstalling right now will let you know if that works.

Ive had the same i think, and solved it. Ill describe the problem first, so you can be sure we are experienceing the same thing:

I open LoL, the LAUNCH screen opens with all the ads and info. I click LAUNCH. Then the login screen should appear, but instead its only black. The borders look the same, bluish etc, but its only black inside. Instead of "Username:, Password:, Log in etc", its just black.

TRY THIS:

If you have deleted any of the default folders (e.g. My videos, My pictures, etc) in your user-folder (C:/users/(account name)/), restore them. I dont know how to can do this if you have already emptied the trashcan though.

If you HAVE emptied the trashcan: Create a new windows user account, log in, and run LoL from it. This is just a suggestion, and I havent tried it myself.

Further explanation: I read a post somewhere about how creating a new windows user account solves the problem. Then I remembered, I just now deleted some folders in C:/users/(my name)/. The folders My videos, My pictures, My contacts, My links, etc was useless to me as far as i could tell, so I deleted them. Fortunately, they were still in the trashcan, so i restored them, and now it works.
