No pregame chat

I'm about every other game or so I'm unable to connect to pregame chat. Sometimes the little "reconnect" button will appear, but using it is fruitless. I click it, it disappears, but I never connect to pregame chat. makes it hard when someone wants to play outside the meta because I have to champ select with no communication on what others want to play. anyone know a fix for this?
