I just played a game a couple of minutes ago as adc, and our support morg who had been trolling the entire game randomly got a penta kill. I wasn't watching, but shortly after she got a quadra with what appeared to be multiple botrk active affects. As someone who takes ranked rather seriously this kind of frustrated me, because even though it was advantageous to me it is still cheating. I am unsure if anybody else has posted about it, so I apologise if others have. Please investigate this player.

Edit: Just checked this player match history, which is complete wins in ranked. This needs to be patched asap.

Sorry we've been more radio silent on this than usual. When these things happen, we try to limit the amount of exposure that exploits get until after we've fixed them. This sometimes means remaining silent. We've had a team working to patch this exploit, which is beginning to roll out as we speak. In the meantime, members of our Player Support team & Gamer Security Unit have been banning players using this exploit, and are going to continue to do so until this has been fully resolved.

This kind of crap happens from time to time, and when it does, we drop what we're doing to address the issue. It's serious business, and we don't take it lightly. I assure you that the banhammer will be swift, and there shall be no hiding for those that took advantage of this.

I'd like to state that there are some not using the exploit that still abused it. I've heard more than one story of a user entering a ranked duo queue with someone using the exploit to rush them through the ranks. I wanted to be sure that this case can be acknowledged.

Well the people I reported for having seen it have pretty much been banned from what I can tell (no matches in past 2 days). However, none of their duo partners (also included in tickets to support) have been affected. Guess they're just getting freelo. Seems fair, right?

As someone who put my own post revealing to be true what Hibiki silvana stated above this, people are duoing for free wins, weither they get 1 or 8 they should be punished as much as the exploiters themselves. Most of the exploiters do not reap as many benefits due to the fact they are smurf/secondary accounts. I would like riot to publish what actions are being taken towards these players who knowingly and willfully duo q with these people. The only exception should be a one game duo (as the player may not know his/her friend is exploiting), if they have 2 or more perma ban IMO.

That exploit is insane. Yeah, the accounts using it will very likely be banned...eventually. I've spectated (and reported via a support ticket) somebody who's risen from ~low silver to mid plat already w/ 100% win rate despite going 0/10 the first 15+ min of the game. There's a few game-breaking issues with the current approach of finding and banning people after the fact:

The damage is already done. People's MMR and rankings have already been affected. How will this be addressed?
The damage is furthered because it creates a horrible atmosphere being unable to win despite being far stronger and skilled due completely to one player that absolutely can't be touched. It's no longer a team game in a match with somebody using this exploit.
What is going to happen with people who queued with abusers? They're just as guilty. Otherwise, why not take a smurf account and just carry them to plat/diamond/master before having the abusing account banned?
What about ranked teams? Should the whole team be banned as well?

Overall, there is a known issue that completely breaks the fundamental goal of the game and the response so far of addressing it via bans later (and hiding discussions about the bug) isn't a good option.

Thoughts?

Loss prevented for those with proof should be handed out and I agree the duo partners and teams who were aware of this should also be banned..Riot needs to start dropping IP bans not account bans...Nobody takes the ban hammer seriously in this game and this is the final straw. I can't play ranked til this is fixed due to lack of trust in the community expecting people to do the right thing is pointless..

IP bans aren't effective. There are plenty of apps that use VPN tunnels and proxies. WTFast is a well known one that works to find optimized connections to LoL servers. Also, there's a good likelihood of blocking entire college campuses, large apartment buildings, hotels, etc. with IP bans.

They are indeed effective granted it might screw over people depending on where they did it and as far as other methods of getting around IP bans go not many people would go through the trouble...Especially since anybody who plays League knows that when talking to the toxic or those who remind you of that 12 year old kid in call of duty that they are not to bright. An IP ban is a bother and games with swift ban hammers for example Halo 3 back in the day who had strict rules and strong hammers didn't have constant complaints put in about people cheating,being overly toxic, or otherwise. Riot is incredibly kind to its community and I love them for that and the game they made but a lot of people in the community do not deserve to play the game..They ruin the fun of climbing ladders or even the simplicity of enjoying a normal blind pick game. So again IP bans as much as they can screw over people they also solve a lot of problems.

I do wish Riot could give out loss prevented or at least assure us we will not see these people again because like many others that are pointing this out I to have seen the very same people who used the exploit still in game playing.

Yes people playing in hotels, using a schools floor IP etc would suffer greatly which is why I just think riot should ban accounts, if people want to level from 30 again go for it, incarnation was given the chance to do so and whether or not he did DDOS that was what he was accused of when he was banned in the first place, getting free wins by DDOSing/exploiting/hacking is all the same result wise. So in the end riot should let these people play again, just Perma ban any account that has benefited through exploiting or duoing with one who is. Also an idea would be to hire a few game testers to find these bugs, devoted game testers like what most multi gaming companies do for pre alphas.

they arent even banning these jokers with any sense of urgency. Same account I reported this morning (in game, support ticket, and forums) has played 15 games using it (now in game 16). They are duoing and have literally climbed from bronze to platinum. I have not spectated all of their games, but have seen 10 and exploit was used in all of them. 15 games x 8 people = 120 innocent bystanders affected from one player's actions.

Yup, I saw the same thing and reported it via a support ticket. I think a bunch of the ones I reported are finally banned (no matches in a while), but not the people they duo'd with (who I included in the reports). Somebody duo'd from silver to plat already and is still playing.

You realize season 5 ranked just started, they can roll out a hard reset after bug is fixed. If they disable ranked it will just give additional attention to the exploit. Making any game mode unplayable.

You realize season 5 ranked did not start, right? It's preseason and your end-of-preseason MMR will play into your placement for season 5. There's no indication so far that they will be doing a hard reset (not fair to all those people who played fair matches) nor making loss prevented the matches where somebody was identified to use the exploit, or punishment for those who knowingly duo'd with people using the exploit.

I have rewritten the script causing the issue i do not want to post it here please contact me Via My support ticket From this summoner name for more information i can send you the entire script for you to pass onto the programmers, i have also submitted a ticket but nothing has come back yet and i want this fixed ASAP i have NOT EXPLOITED THIS i have just successfully RECREATED iT in hopes of passing onto you to fix the issue.

Is there a particular way in which we can report people using this exploit? Cheaters ruin games and I'd like to help in any way that I can in preventing this from continuing to happen while your fantastic team continues to search for the solution

How can we report those taking advantage of hacks? Its not just this exploit but others in the future as well. There is not an "Exploiting a Hack/Glitch" report tab post game.

What are the guidelines for this kind of stuff because apparently a few of my friends have heard about this and are now scared to play the game..I myself will not be playing til its fixed but honestly what I care most about is a loss prevented and for the players who are doing this to get IP bans in the recording I made of the game when it happened the duo partner of the person abusing it admits to not only abusing it but having multiple accounts on the ready in case of a ban. I just want some reassurance Riot will be over the top ban hammer happy when it comes to these people.

Sorry that you guys are getting some much crap for the bug honestly the anger should not be directed at you but instead of those who abuse it ruining a great game for others. Good luck to all of you working on it at Riot.

I have encountered similiar memory editors during the past year on diamond elo on euro servers. If they are smart about it, it wont get noticed like on my case. I didnt report them even I knew their skill/item was on cd but I thought it might been a bug or just lag. All cases occurred on the beginning of the season 4 and those accounts had 80%+ winrate.

Does this also include the players that queued up with the person fully knowing their friend is using the hack and using it to get a free win?? or does it only include the person that's actually using the hack??

Yeah this isn't the same thing. The exploit achieves the same result by some other method from the last one. That's about all I know about what's going on though.

you don't have to have the item, i just played against a corki who had IE and GA. With a Zilean on his team (yeah they knew what they were doing) the guy he was duoing should be punished too for supporting that type of thing.

From what i understand it is instantly refunded after you purchase so it wouldn't appear to be owned on your screen.

Riot deleted my thread too, I dunno why. But, Okay now three games with this guy "How does he". He plays Varus, and buys not 1 item, not even starting item. He constantly has potions with nothing in inventory. Not to mention, at lvl 11 he was 1 shotting our whole team. He would just walk up, and we all died. Weird thing is, he did no damage to towers or inhib, but when it came to attacking us, soon as he did or got close, we just dropped from 100%. He keeps making new accounts, all low lvl, im sure cause he gets banned. This shit needs to be fixed man, of course every game his whole team is asking for the hack, and im sure its just gonna get worse. Now at the very end, he bought two items, but the whole game he had nothing and was 1 shotting us, I dont know if you guys can see this link with my match history but, he has 17 kills at lvl 14 game ended. 10k gold, almost double what everyone else had, and way more minions kills.

I should note, the item he bought was infinity edge, so I dunno if its broken again, like Lucian 1 shotting everything with it,

hack your not introuble and trust me other players feel the same way you do, but in this instance according to the guidelines for reporting a bug somewhere you crossed their line and they had to delete the post, it isn't they are trying to cover it up they are bound by those rules to keep these fourms escalating out of hand as well as protect the rights of those players even if they are cheating $*%*ards. trust me I feel for you it happened to me as well but only in a normal game, thx god I wasn't in a ranked one like with your situation or I might be doing the same thing you did. Teemo when in doubt just punch a teemo!

I think its sad how people need to exploit the game as if it is a single player video game to advance within the ranked system. I think riot stated they are in the process of permabanning all these people as they should, if you notice these people in your games report them at once. This isn't right, and it hurts the competitive nature of this game.

Hey, So I'm wondering what is going to be happening to people that used this exploit to boost other players? E.x. duo-queuing with someone using the exploit to raise your MMR. Also, what is happening to the people that just created smurf accounts in order to use this exploit with-out worry of having their main account banned? Is it going to be an IP ban that they get or something like that? I really don't want to have to play with players that did this.... It annoys me to have to play with people that are clearly boosted to a higher MMR and then can't compete and just ruin the game for you.

How come BOTRK hasn't been disable already? Just disable one item while the problem is fixed and everything can go back to normal, seems like a good temporary solution and a pretty obvious one at that!

I just saw this myself on an eve with no items. Suddenly she just started instagibbing the entire enemy team. You'd think that'd be enough of a bug to warrant a shutdown or something...

They've been working on the bug for days, it would be pretty bad for them to do a multiday shut down... on the other hand aren't they going to do a few day shutdown in a few days?

The thing is, how is Riot going to resolve this issue? Simply having BotRK in your build does not cause the glitch (according to what you are saying they don't even need the item). This means people who are playing honestly and using BotRK who might not even be aware of the glitch should obviously not be targeted or suffer repercussions (especially when they get Terrible KDA's and losses like I have gotten lol. Just look at my match history with games using BotRK as I was completely unaware of this glitch before this post. Xin is the only one who I got a pretty amazing KDA with, and that's because it's Xin hyper carry action xD). It would be stupid to ban everyone using a BotRK which is a staple item in a lot of games. Not just that, but they don't even need the BotRK to cause the glitch which seems weird. Are they banning people who have been reported?
