Sivir Lore Contradiction

Hi,

I noticed a quote by Sivir in which she states "Coin may buy you skill for a day, but never loyalty." (first link). But when you play her and right click to issue a movement command she says "Loyalty isn't earned, its bought." (second link). By that she contradicts herself. Is that on purpose and she is lying because she is a bad person like that or is that a lore mistake?

I always took it to mean that Sivir doesn't really believe in the concept of undying loyalty. To her you can't trust someone unless you pay them (Loyalty isn't earned, it's bought) but at the same time that isn't really loyalty. To her as soon as someone sees a better opportunity to make money they will turn around and backstab you. aka "Coin may buy you skill for a day but never loyalty."

In other words she is using loyalty in 2 different senses. One where loyalty means someone who wont turn on you (which money wont buy) and one where loyalty means someone who will work for you (which you need to spend money to get.)

Basically she sees money as a motivator. You have to pay people to work, they wont just do it because they like you, but at the same time people that only work for pay will turn on you the moment they see an opportunity to make more money because that is what motivates them.

Of course that is just my take on it.

Well her voicelines are from before the lore retcon. So in a possible voice update (not before at least 5 years), this might be changed.
