Malz q after death

Can you guys pls fiz malz q not doing dmg after he dies. For instance, I q and it goes off, you can see it and everything, yet it will do no damage. Not to mention his voidlings that get confused when you ult and just sit there and do nothing. I literally just ulted and watched 2 of them stand in the pool by my ult and do nothing at all. I've seen this happen a few times lately.
