What's wrong with Relic on Thresh?

SO I've played a bit of Thresh recently, and noticed that even when I have active item 3302 Procs (to execute minions under 200 hp) it doesn't work! I have to literally wait until they have 50hp, and last him them, to get it to execute and grant health back to me and my ally. I know this is not a proximity issue because I will often be standing like 20 units away from my ADC (or close enough to proc it from other champs). I haven't noticed this issue with other supports, just Thresh. Has anyone else noticed this???

ps - Idk if this would make a difference, but I'm using the Deep Terror skin exclusively. Thanks guys!

Thresh's attacks are ranged, not melee, and so the execute does not effect him.

Nothing is wrong here. The execute passive for Relic Shield and it's upgrades only works for MELEE basic attacks. Thresh is classified as a ranged champion, so he does not benefit from the execute passive, though he can still share gold by last hitting minions normally.

well he used to be ranged but now he isnt ranged or melee he cant get hurricane or the melee buffs
