kayn w on me i threw him over me and his w still was running and knocked me up while he was mid air.

It's not a channeled ability so it shouldn't be disrupted even if he's CC'd. While it looks weird visually to displace him only for his W to hit you, the spell is already cast, he's just locked in his cast animation until it takes effect.
This is intended. Kayn's W locks him in place to cast it, and regardless of any displacements, his W will always go off in the direction of original cast.
