Cannot use Targeted Abilities or Leave Combat [GAMEPLAY]

I did several games over the past few days. This started occurring on Saturday and continued to today. I would be playing a normal game, for example as Singed top (my most recent). Randomly, I wouldn't be able to click the ability buttons (Q,W,E,R) to cast spells. I wouldn't be able to click on the map to change my view or press Y to fix or unfix the camera. Only self-casted abilites were avalible to use, for example Singed's Q or R. All others that had to be targeted to a thing or area wouldn't show up. You wouldn't be able to click the button to send to all chat, your targeted abilities, your death recap, basically anything that would require the left click mouse button. You do move, however once you enter basic attack range and attack something, you were stuck there until you died, or the thing attacking you died. The bug would usually go away after I died.

Here is a step by step instruction of what happened.

  1. Playing normal game and having fun.
  2. All of the above stop working.

That's basically it. It has happened to me a couple times, probably two or three times in the last 10 games, but it's getting to be a real liability, for I have to wait a while to see if it will go away, or restart the client completely. If you want proof, you can check my match history chat log and see that it's happened. This bug has also happened to my friend whom I am playing with.

During the times it has happened, I have been playing Kha'Zix, Teemo, and Singed. I do now know why this bug occurred. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary. I have also tried switching to trackpad while the bug is active and nothing happened.

I'm sorry, but I don't really have any screenshots or video clips. But what would happen is that the abilities would turn much darker (the non-castable targeted ones). Similar to when Katarina has her R off cooldown but there are no nearby enemy champions.

I have had this happen as well. It occurs randomly. I am hardlined into my internet, not a wireless issue. My husband experiences it as well, so not a computer issues. A IRL friend we play with has the same issue, so it is not an internet issue.

Also, ping does not move while this happens. I've accidentally taken jungle camps when leashing before and induced rage from it. I've aimed a skillshot, only my skillshot didn't land there, I walked there and died.

This has been going for me for weeks, not just days.

Do you happen to be on a Mac? This is a common issue in this patch for Mac computers (including my own). It seems to happen most often when you respawn or after backing, as you can't open the shop, make purchases, or use any of the keyboard inputs. The only band-aid I've found is to command + options + escape, forcequit the game, and then click to reconnect and reload. It has been dire in normal games...I can't imagine playing ranked with such a large bug impacting the client.

Well, I'm doing it again and the bug keeps happening. I just played a game and it happened to me as Vi and Jarvan. For the Vi game it left after around 2 minutes of sitting in base. For the Jarvan game it persisted through 2 deaths and I finally had to dc and reconnect, costing my team the game (being the only tank). It's really annoy, yet it has only started happening to me since last patch. It's getting annoying now. Do you know any possible way to revert it? I've noticed that I can now use targeted abilities when I hover my cursor over it, like I'm on auto targeting abilities setting yet I cannot go to the menu to change it. Strange. Well, I hope it gets fixed soon.
