Patch 8.9 using mac with El capitan

I am a Mac user, and i'm using El Capitan 10.11.6. My mac is an early 2008 and can therefor not use Sierra. I am having issues after champ select. Its all fine in the champ select, but when going to loading screen, it tells me to reconnect, but when I try reconnect, nothing happens.. Am I the only one having this issue?

-Is it because league doesn't support el Capitan? or am i just totally lost?
