Can't start the Launcher on my Mac!

I tried redownloading League after I decided to start playing again. I have Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 so I don't think it's a problem with it supporting my operating system. I tried this one solution where you check the 'Package Contents' in finder, and it said to go to 'Contents-->LoL-->RADS-->projects-->lol_launcher' but when I got to the 'lol_launcher' folder nothing was there! Does this mean anything? I've heard something about User Kernel on similar posts, and have reason to believe this could be what's causing the problem since when I mouse over the League of Legends icon on my dock it says 'User Kernel' instead of 'LoL Launcher' or something like that. It shows the logo on screen and when I mouse over it it shows the rainbow pinwheel that says it's loading but I've been sitting here for a few minutes and the only thing it has managed to do is disappear off my screen. The logo is gone. Anyway, is there any hope of this problem being fixed soon? I miss Renekton! :(
