(TECHNICAL ISSUE) The strangest bug I have ever experienced in League.

Within the past two months I started experiencing technical issues while being in game of a League of Legends match. It started out as the screen would freeze, followed by my monitor restarting itself. During this time I could move my mouse and could hear all the sounds coming from the game but no inputs were being registered. It would only happen once every couple of days, but it has now escalated dramatically. Also to add, League of Legends is the only game that this bug occurs, none of the other games I have/play on my computer have this issue.

This week has been the worst ever for this technical issue. There may be even more than one thing wrong, I'm not sure. There are three different variations of this bug now that I experience (not even joking) during every game of League:

Variation 1: Game freezes followed immediately by a monitor restart. Mouse not able to be moved, all game sounds can still be heard. No inputs registered during freeze. Lasts roughly 10 seconds in all.

Variation 2: Game freeze for about 5-10 seconds followed by the screen turning a solid color of gray (not the kind you see when you die in League, a legitimate solid color of gray) although this week I have also seen it tinted like a green/gray and a blue/gray. It stays like this for about 10 seconds, followed by a monitor restart and then everything is normal. Mouse cannot be moved during the event and no inputs were registered. All sounds that were playing during the game freeze are replayed during the whole event. This variation can repeat itself within seconds of itself. This is also the variation I see most often now, happening most often when attempting to leave base in game, but it has occurred everywhere else on the Rift as well.

Variation 3: Game freeze for about 5-10 seconds followed by the screen turning a solid color of gray (also a legitimate solid gray) same thing as Variation 2, green/gray and a blue/gray tint started this week. It stays like this for about 15 seconds, followed by a monitor restart and then back to the game frozen on the frame it was frozen on before. All sound is cut out, mouse unable to move, my secondary monitor freezes as well and the lighting on my keyboard and mouse flash on and off very rapidly. This freeze requires a hard computer restart.

I have reinstalled the game, used the Hextech Repair tool to do a re-install of the latest patch and reinstall the game itself. I have checked the drivers on my graphics card to see if there was an issue there but I have found nothing. I have tried turning down the graphics even though League is not a very graphic heavy game and it has not helped. I have tried going Fullscreen, Borderless and Windowed, they all still can be afflicted by the bug.

The Task Manager shows that during the glitch, there is a brief spike on the chart of the GPU performance going to 100% , while the usual is about 30% for League. At the same time, the Ethernet chart spikes as well. It might have to do with packet loss or something, I'm unsure at this point. If anyone has any ideas, I am open to hear them.

Computer Specs: GPU: GeForce GTX 970 CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K RAM: HyperX Fury DDR4 16GB (if you need other specs let me know, I figured these are the important ones for this issue)

I would uninstall the game, and reinstall. It is possible the game files corrupted somehow (bad HDD maybe?) If you have a hard drive (aka not a SSD), do a disc check. That'll find any bad sectors on the disc that can't store information anymore and mark them as unusable. Then reinstall the game.

I would also reinstall your graphics drivers, and maybe do a memtest (but that seems unlikely since nothing else experiences issues)

EDIT: If you do have an HDD (hard disc drive, one that spins and you have a stat like 7200 RPM or 10,000 RPM on it then it is a HDD). I would uninstall, then do the disc check, then reinstall.
