Game search bans for no reason

'm not entirely sure how to report this as I don't use the forums, but I've been frequently getting banned for searching for games for no reason and I'd like to know how to fix it.

I'll be searching for a couple of minutes, unable to find a game. When I cancel and retry I'm told I've been banned for abandoning a game in champ select. Just now I searched for about 1 minute, stopped and retried and I've been slapped with a 30 minute ban.

Am I the only one with this issue?
