Camera lock

I have come to understand most people play with an unlocked camera and center to their char by tapping the space bar or holding it down.

The way I play is instead of holding down spacebar I tap "Y" to toggle lock/unlock the camera. The only issue is consistently doing this tends to bug it out every 2 or so games where the camera stays locked even if I click "Y" again to unlock it or if I click the lock button next to minimap, it doesn't change. I have found the only way to fix it is click "Y" then look somewhere on the map then click "Y" then look somewhere on the map until it unlocks. It's very annoying because it can take up to 20s to get it fixed.
