Elise Rappel (e) is inconsistent with the Jungle plants (7.7)

Whilst playing a game earlier i noticed that i couldn't rappel to a blast cone inside the radius of my E. I though this was strange since i've been able to do this in the past. So i tried it in the practice tool and it appears that if you highlight over the blast cone or other plants and press E it will take you to it instantly, however if you don't hover any targets and press E to take you into the air and then hover over the plant and try and click is to rappel down nothing actually happens. When up in the air you can see that the blast cone does not have the little circle around it to rappel down to compared to the red buff and krugs. So im just wondering if this is intentional or has just been a bug since patch 7.7. Hope this helps.
