Losing series....for no reason at all!

So I currently am in Silver IV...After reaching 100 points,i go on a series on my way to Silver III.I pick TF for my first game and I lose the game,but while taht should be registered just as a loss for the series,I lost my series completely after that...I think that's not fair,bearing in mind that going up (in divisions)is already difficult(with so many AFK teammates).
