[CLIENT] Signing into League causes computer to freeze.

I started patching this morning and it finished a short time ago. I try to log on, authenticates fine, but then when the game client starts to load it causes my computer to just freeze with no error message or any other explanation. When I reboot and try to start up league again, I get an Update Failed message saying an unspecified error occurred. It says to check logs but That's kinda new to me and I'm not sure how to look at them. When I press continue the calculating differences gets stuck at "1 files scanned" and the percentage stays at 33%. I attempted a repair and when it finished the same problem happened again.

Same problem, if you wait 10-20 seconds it will unfreeze. It only happens the first time you start the client, after the initial freeze you should be able to re-launch as many times as you want without issue. But once you restart your computer it will freeze again on the first launch. I've tried repairing the client, deleting the client files and letting them re-download, and completely uninstalling and reinstalling, but nothing worked. I think at this point we just have to wait on them for a fix.

Ok so i got the same thing but i just wait it out for a few seconds and it unfreezes. Although all other programs continue to run in the same time, meaning skype calls are still ongoing (they hear me i hear them).

Yeah, I just tried again and waited for a bit and it went back to normal. Hopefully Riot just fixes the problem, though. Least we can play.

Usually I wait for a few minutes for my computer to catch up and then it works fine

I got this same error and I have no idea how to fix it, apart from maybe downloading the whole thing...? Any help would be appreciated.

Same thing happened to me, I repaired the client and once I logged in it froze again. However, after a few minutes it started working again! So i guess just try to wait a bit and see what happens.

I get a mini-freeze about 50% of the time when the client first boots up, and that's been going on for several patches now. I also get the bug where no pictures on the front page of the client ever load - that one happens like 80% of the time.
