Client crashes on start

After champion select when the client launches, the program immediately stops responding before the load screen comes up. I have tried to reconnect however the issue persists. I have tried 3 times, 2 then I closed League and reopened it and had the issue going into a third game. I successfully played a few games earlier today with the last successful game taking place around 30 minutes before the first issue.

I have also been having issues with the app not launching recently, however I think that these issues are unrelated as until now I haven't had any issues once I got the program running. (usually i just had to search and run from the start menu as opposed to my desktop short cut or taskbar pin.)

I am running windows 10 on a desktop with an i7 4770K with a Nvidia Geforce gxt 960 gpu and 8gb of ram if it helps.
