player id#s(?) listed in champ select chat instead of their summoner name

IN the chat during pre game lobby i do not see summoner names, only a string on numbers/letters identifying them.

This has been happening to me recently as well. I tried troubleshooting the client after a few games to see if that would help, and it did not. Might just be a little bug on their end they need to work out.

It's a little annoying because pre and especially post game lobby I wanna be able to chat with people but it's hard to put who's talking with their champ when all you see is just those strings of names and numbers.

I am seeing the same thing since 2 days ago. Originally it was only a few of summoners but not it is every one including enemy. @Riot pls fix.

I was having this same issue, what I did to resolve it on my end was; Uninstall the game, and then find the RIOT Game folder and delete that. Then reinstall. I hope it works for you guys as well.

I've been having the same problem for a month or two now. Its a total pain if someone asks to swap positions with me in ranked or draft. Most of the time I have to ask what position they were placed in since I can't tell from chat, and that leads to them thinking I'm a dimwit. The funny thing is, this problem only appears on my desktop, if I use my laptop to play I don't have the ID problem, however the client is laggy and unresponsive on the laptop (can't type in chat half the time and buttons take 2-5 seconds to activate).
