Lee Sin Resonating Strike to Magical Journey Bug

Last game I played as lee sin in a team fight near the very end. I cast my sonic wave on bard as he created a magical journey portal. I followed up with resonating strike and something weird happened. almost as if lee sin was going to follow bard through the tunnel then decided to go around then back through then around again. so i spent a good 1.5-2 seconds just trying to get to bard. Basically its like lee sin couldn't make up his mind on where to go. Just back and forth and back and forth.
