Demotion protection

Right, so does demotion protection not work for normal divisons? After getting promoted to bronze 1 (dont bully), I won game, won the next game but lost lp because was afk for ~5mins, and then lost the next. I automatically got deranked. I thought there was some kinda protection from this?

There's supposed to be a protection where whenever you fall to 0 LP, you have to lose AFTER hitting 0 LP to actually demote.

When you lost LP for getting demoted, did you hit 0? If not then you shouldn't have lost your rank until you lose at 0 LP.
