Normal Game Demoted BUG??

Today on November 6th 2014 I had just finished a three man Que normal game, after my victory in my post game chat screen I was greeted with a notification telling me I was demoted from Platinum Five to Gold One at 75 LP. I don't understand how winning a Normal game caused this to happen. I had about 18 Lp in Platinum five just in case of decay, however even if I was going to decay how did I lose all my Lp and also get demoted in one shot?

 I don't know how to reproduce this effect, I also would not LIKE to reproduce this effect as I have no idea what the resolution of this issue will be. In addition to that I do not have any screen shots however I would imagine the Riot staff have a method to check my match history, that being more then enough evidence of the problem. 

I created this post in the hopes it would possibly garner some attention from a staff member with the capacity to assist me with my issue. I have also submitted a support ticket, and the number of it is "REQUEST #14675099" if that is of any help. Any information of this odd bug would be appreciated.

I am currently going through a support ticket with Riot support. I just received a reply and I thought I would post a small portion of it in case it helps anyone else suffering from the same issue or one that is similar.

"Master & Challenger: 250 League points lost after 7 days of inactivity, then another 250 LP lost every 24 hours Diamond: 50 LP lost after 28 days of inactivity, then another 50 LP lost every 7 days Platinum: 35 LP lost after 28 days of inactivity, then another 35 LP lost every 7 days "

As we know with the most recent update to rank that if you are Gold or below you will not suffer any decay. Another possible helpful tidbit I will leave below

"If you fall below zero LP, you will be placed in a division below the one you are in currently. Should you fall to the fifth division, you will fall to the next tier (for example: Platinum players would fall to the Gold League which what happened in your case). We have put this system in place in order to ensure that our most competitive Leagues are full of players who are constantly progressing, rather than reaching a tier and staying there indefinitely."

While the above comment is obvious I believe it shows Riots view/standpoint on my issue. While I hope my issue is resolved I also am not sure if Riot even views what happened to me is actually a "issue" and it seems that this is apparently normal as I have seen others with similar issues.

I would also like to know if anyone else has had a problem like mine and had it actually reverted or resolved in some helpful fashion?

Here is some more information about decay that is legitimate, source is from Support ticket with Riot.

"If the current LP is lower than the supposed deduction for being inactive, then yes it would indeed one shot and demote you to the lower tier." (By one shot the rioter is referring to my analogy of decaying from Plat V 18 Lp to Gold 1 75 Lp with one day of decay hence "one shot")

Keep in mind the decay actually scales upward, for example if in diamond you would decay FIFTY Lp instead of the 35 at Plat.

I'm considering making a collaboration of this data for the next season so when players go into the next season they know that the decay is pretty potent. Also the lack of a riot response here is a little concerning, I would have appreciated a official response here, it was my reasoning for posting on the bug thread, even though now I have been informed this is apparently how things work.
