LEAGUE CLIENT LOGS OUT DURING CHAMP SELECT AND DOESNT LET U LOAD BACK IN

i queued up for a ranked game and champ select went just fine, however, when the client started to count down and hit 0, the game did not start. I was stuck in champ select with my team for a while, and when i restarted my lol client, it did not allow me to reconnect to the game. pressing the reconnect button yields no effect.
