[CLIENT] Unable to play with friends in flex

I'm not entirely certain if this is a bug but my friends and I were able able to play flex together last season in flex but this season we are not. The people who I get the "rank difference is too big" issue with in flex, many of them I am still able to play with them in solo/duo queue. I am unranked in flex currently but none of them are ranked higher than silver 4 in flex or solo/duo. It is especially confusing because one of the people I play with regularly is literally the exact same rank in solo duo and are both unranked in flex but he is able to play with everyone else in flex but I am not. This is really frustrating because my friends and I cannot play ranked together. I am just wondering what is happening and if anyone else is experiencing this.
