Game not Responding

So I start a ranked game, and after champ select, the game doesn't load. Instead, the league of legends icon is frozen, and when I close out of it, the client does not recognize the game has crashed. I close out of the client itself, and try to restart the patcher. Unfortunately , the lol icon just freezes and I am unable to open the patcher (I have also closed out of all league programs via task manager). At this point, the only way to make the game run is to restart my computer completely. By the time I get back into the game, we have just about lost, I gain a leaverbuster point, and likely many reports. This had occurred in a normal and another ranked game. At this point, the likelihood of this problem occurring is unpredictable, and I have no clue how to fix it. Can someone please help me?
