[CLIENT] Launcher running slow and lagging my entire computer

Starting about a week ago with the new patch, the launcher has been running super slowly and slowing my computer down when I try to do other things while waiting. I have a pretty good gaming PC and none of the other games have a problem. When I open the launcher it takes about 30 seconds to appear. Once I click launch it takes about 10 minutes to respond, either by making me agree to the ToS and EULA (each one delaying it another 10-15 minutes) or just takes 10-15 to open the game. One the main game is open it runs totally fine. I've now been sitting here for the past 30 minutes waiting for it to work as I post this.

I'm kind of upset no one has said anything. I ran the launcher with a program that shows how much of my CPU's performance is being used up; the launcher increases my CPU usage % by at least 50. This seems a bit excessive for a window to start a game..

if this is still a problem for you and you have widows 10 here is the easiest way to fix it Step 1: close everything

Step 2: right click the LOL shortcut

Step 3: click troubleshoot compatibility

Step 4: wait for scan to finish

Step 5: click try recommended settings

Step 6: Open shortcut or press test settings

I really hope someone gets back to you on this. I'm having the same issue. My computer slows and even my sounds start to mess up.

Kurwa Rito nerf launcher it's too laggy. Can't even change my masteries of the lag. When person bans a champ It's just not responding for 10 mins then i get kicked and banned fk this launcher pls bring back the old one I will suck u off dry.

I believe I have found a way to fix it. After a long time looking around the files I had an idea to change the shortcut up. Bare with me, this is my first time trying to explain computer stuff

  1. Right click on your shortcut
  2. click compability
  3. Choose Windows 8 and Run as admin
  4. I hope this works

Bump! Same issue here, I dont know what is causing it since its only in the last like 4 or 5 patches that this has happened. I have been able to play without errors for over 5 years.

I'm having the same problem someone please post a solution if they find one. This is my favorite game and am feeling discouraged to play because its almost impossible to get into a game. Most of the time I make it to the champ select and it will be so slow that I can't pick my champ and it dodges.

You need to set u're client's capability to the windows u want to play on...If that doesn't help reinstall game

I myself have the same problem! I think it could be related to all the effects in the new dynamic queue, the shimmering and the cloth of the banners seems to use up a ton of CPU usage. Maybe Riot could insert a "Stop Queue Background Animations" like the one in the Account Login frame. Hope someone responds soon :)

Uninstalling and reinstalling, leaving for work and coming back has helped, now only like 5 minutes to respond.

I know this is old, but has there been a fix to this anyone found? Because I have the same issue, I tried uninstalling league and reinstalling, doesn't seem to have helped. Pretty much exactly as you explained it, the launcher slows down my entire computer a bit, and the launcher itsself lags like crazy, especially when a patch rolls through and I have to click the two ToS, it takes a good hour to get into the game client, if I can get in at all, it usually takes a couple tries until it eventually works. Getting real old, real fast

Same issue here. When I click "Launch" the fan starts working, and drawing boxes on my desktop lags.

I've been having the exact same issue and it's extremely frustrating to try and deal with i've started to get to the point i don't play one of my favorite games because of the fact it takes an hour to load and lags my entire computer.
