So whenever I get in game, the screen begins to flicker and proceeds to just go all black and I get the message on the screen saying no VGA cable detected as if my pc wasn't connected to my monitor. I'm able to alt tab out and it returns the screen to my desktop all normal and what not, but when I open the client tab it brings me back to the game but the issue repeats itself.
Um, try searching for that problem in reference to your video card. Also, try to change your Window mode; I assume you are using Fullscreen, so change it to Windowed or Borderless(my preference). If you can't get into the game to change that, you can edit the setting from the file manually. You'll find it in your LoL folder > Config > game.cfg. Change the WindowMode=# to 0 1 or 2 (2 is borderless) close and save it. This is not some kind of exploit, don't worry, it is simply changing the in-game setting manually.
