For people with the "Stuck at 271 MB (0 Kbps)" bug/glitch.
Just let it keep going. It is a bug or glitch and causes you to not see the Kbps, but it is actually updating.. Let it do its thing and you should be on the rift in no time.

how long should i wait before i try again?
hello i have a new computer, and my patch stops at 274 mb and only 54%. I have been waiting for a time now. only wonder if this soultion you give is still working? or what can i do? is first downloud on this computer!
I wish I would have known this before reinstalling the last 3 times. I'm currently stuck on two computers but I'm gonna let it go overnight. Been pissing me off that it's been all day. I really with riot would get their shit together with the patcher. Everything else they do with this game is so well done but this is just ridiculous.

For people that encounter this error. I also encountered it today.
The following worked in my case:
- if the path in which you install the game is long (ie: D:\Games\League of Legends) then make it shorter by installing in the root of the partition (ie: D:\League of Legends) - this not only solves most problems, but, I noticed, also increases the download speed of the patches
- if your patcher reached 99% with 271 MB (0kbps) do not cancel it or restart the launcher; in my case it took almost 30-45 minutes while it was at 99% until if actually finished and the "Launch" button appeared (I tried everything that was on the forums before I actually tried this solution)
