Can't Gift Summoner Icons

So with the release of the new worlds icons that you can upgrade, now seems like an ideal time to gift some friends summoner icons. I was going to do just that until they removed summoner icons from the gifting list. Was this intentional or a bug?

yeah lol I tried to gift my brother the new C9 icon but ended up having to just gift him a skin rip
